One day, a burly man named Griz walked into Lynn’s office at Dowland-Bach, asking for a non-sparking screening. Lynn was perplexed. When Griz began explaining what it was used for, he was intrigued. That led to Lynn becoming a licensed pyrotechnician and running firework shows for years. His favorite was New Years Eve at Alyeska.

Yes, he loved to “blow shit up”, but he also loved introducing his side gig to friends and letting them help out with shows.

Honorary commander

Top Gun was one of Lynn’s favorite movies, so when he had the to opportunity to serve as Honorary Commander for the 525 and 19 Fighter Squadron, he was in literal heaven. It’s also where he received his call sign “Shooter”.

He got inverted and drank Jeremiah Weed Whiskey with the squadron, and didn’t “lose his lunch”, a true badge of honor.
